In Peru, a law aimed at promoting and defending the interests of people with diabetes and effectively addressing the impact of diabetes in the country has been passed by the National Parliament. Among the features of the bill is the establishment of a National Diabetes Prevention and Awareness Programme and the creation of a National Diabetes Registry to accurately assess the incidence and prevalence of diabetes in Peru.
